Repair/Service in UK

I have an M6 TTL looking for a CLA. Can anyone please recommend a source in the UK for good work and efficient service?

Undoubtably Malcolm Taylor, he sorted out my M6 ttl after it had been knocked off a bench, and has also overhauled my III and a couple of lenses. Not cheap but the best! Even Leica sends stuff to him.

He's in the depths of the country on the Herefordshire/Shropshire borders 01568 770542

Thanks, Gerry. That's exactly what I needed. :)

No problem, if you go to see him, its a very interesting ride along some VERY narrow lanes, like stepping back a century.

You would see some very interesting things lying around, such as a stereo screw thread leica, based on a III I think, actually has two lenses on it, presumably made up from two bodies in extended limo fashion!

Lots of Ferrari posters etc. around, he appreciates the prancing horse.

Another vote for Peter Grisaffi at CRR. Excellent work and I also found him to be very generous with his time explaining problems and offering advice.

Another vote for Malcolm, though he still has a lens I dropped with him, must be 2 1/2 years ago :) when I rode my motorcycle over there but he is trying very hard to have a new front element made to his specifications. I pity the manufacturers for beneath his relaxed attitude, he is rather demanding as far as precision goes. He even had to lend some of his measuring tools to one who couldn't measure up, litterally.

It's a collapsible 2/50 Summicron (1955) and I dearly wish the manufacturers could oblige Mr. Taylor!
