There is an amazing amount of astonishing carved marble in India. You can see some details of carved marble at the Taj Majal on the 1st India photo page of our site, more marble carving at the Amber Fort where the man in blue is on the 2nd India photo page, as well as two different Jain temples' marble carings on the 4th and 5th pages of India photos. I'm told by a former undercover agent that the Jain temples in Kashmir are even more impressive, but are in a place no longer safe for travel.
