jaapv Posted January 21, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 21, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just got a DMR. It is running firmware 1.1. I believe there is an update. Is it worth updating?
Advertisement Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Hi jaapv, Take a look here Newbie firmware question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted January 21, 2008 Share #2 Posted January 21, 2008 Yes v1.3 is worth installing. I have had it installed from the first day it was released and have had no problems with it, whatsoever.

carlos diaz Posted January 25, 2008 Share #5 Posted January 25, 2008 Most definitely, install the 1.3 Charles, I'm not aware of a firmware update of 1.3 for the M8. I'v looked on the Leica site. What's up? Carlos

stuny Posted January 25, 2008 Share #7 Posted January 25, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Jaap - I too endorse the change to DMR firmware 1.3. All of the DMR shots from our Namibia & Botswana trip are with that version.
graeme_clarke Posted January 25, 2008 Share #8 Posted January 25, 2008 Jaap, Like Andy I've used 1.3 from almost the first day it came out with no problems whatsoever. However, I find using high iso can still be noisy in dark shadow areas if exposure is pushed. I hope you find as I do that the pictures are nicely saturated and using the unit is always very satisfying. Best wishes, Graeme
andybarton Posted January 25, 2008 Share #9 Posted January 25, 2008 Charles, I'm not aware of a firmware update of 1.3 for the M8. I'v looked on the Leica site. What's up?Carlos There are many people here who consider DMR images far superior to those made with an M8. Shame Leica no longer make them.
jaapv Posted January 26, 2008 Author Share #10 Posted January 26, 2008 I have some difficulties sorting the flash. I manage with the camera on m, and the flash obviously on A, but the P, T, and A modes on the camera seem to produce an extreme shutter lag and faulty exposure. andybarton Posted January 26, 2008 Share #11 Posted January 26, 2008 R8 or R9? Which flash gun?

robsteve Posted January 29, 2008 Share #13 Posted January 29, 2008 Jaap: The flash will not work on P, T or A, just F or M. On the automatic modes, the camera picks the shutter speed for the ambiant light.
