USHELDON Posted January 20, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 20, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) V-lux 1 with macro Caught this Mozambique Spitting Cobra near the lodge and relocated him to safety, well away from people (for his good and theirs). Mozambique spitting cobras have potent cytotoxin and are regarded as one of South Africas deadliest. They are capable of spitting venom accurately up to 2 metres, as my venom covered V-lux is testimony to. Thanks for looking. More to follow. stuny Posted January 20, 2008 Share #2 Posted January 20, 2008 Sheldon - Excellent shot, and very brave of you to use your V-Lux at its 35mm equivalent focal length :-)

USHELDON Posted January 22, 2008 Author Share #7 Posted January 22, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks very much for all the great feedback. Marco, you're right he wasn't happy. Cobras have a tendency to rear a hood in defence. The great thing about photographing them, is as long as you hold their attention, they keep the hood splayed.Stuart it was a bit tricky with the V-lux, due to it's focal length, but patience pays off. Pedro and Ken, thanks. It's more a case of confidence than courage. I've been handling snakes for 20 years. Thanks Ben.........sleep tight.
