London New Year's meet-up 2025

Dear Forum Members,

There's always that awkward period between Christmas and New Year when most of the relatives have argued themselves to and standstill and taken themselves home, despite several snaking assaults the turkey in the fridge is still the size of a small hippo, you've had just about enough turkey and cranberry jelly sandwiches to last several lifetimes, the sparkle has faded from the presents that you'd so much looked forward to a week ago, you've now done all the jobs you'd been putting off, and you're left wondering what else to do to avoid being 'volunteered' for something you'd really rather not do so that SWMBO can get you out of the house.

Well ... why not join us in London and meet up with forum members you haven't seen for awhile or haven't met in person and have a laugh or two, talk a lot of nonsense, and, if the mood takes you, take a gentle stroll with us through a part of the city that you might be less familiar with?

We'll meet at The Barrowboy and Banker pub near London Bridge (it's that long concrete thing that crosses the Thames near the station) at 11.30 am on Monday 29th December for a tipple of choice and possibly a bite to eat (no, no, not turkey) and when we're ready we'll wander through the ancient Borough Market and surrounding streets and then see what we feel like doing depending on the weather, ravaging thirst, ravenous hunger, darkness, Trump-inspired attacks on boats on the Thames etc.

My mobile number hasn't changed (ending -888) but if you haven't met me yet and would like to stay connected in case the group manages to get split up then please drop me a PM and we can exchange numbers.

I'd be grateful if you'd let me know here if you're intending to come along so we'll have an idea of numbers and I look forward to seeing you on 29th!
