newbie needs help. adapting lens

Hello everyone, just got myself sl2s first time using it.  so I got 7artisan close focus adapter and mounted my m glass on it. Turned on the camera every thing works but the screen is balck.!!! Both LCD and evf. I dont know what I'm doing wrong.

Crowmagnon,  I have used the SL2-S ever since it arrived on scene and use it today.  My camera has never done this.  I suggest you try a few things.  First, turn the camera off, remove the lens adapter with lens and turn the camera back on.  Both the LCD and EVF should come on.  If not, the SL2-S or battery might have issues.  If the camera LCD comes on without the lens adapter, try putting the adapter with lens on the body with the camera on.  The adapter if it has contacts, might be causing the camera body to error.  If re-attaching the adapter with lens causes the LCD and EVF to go black, then something is perhaps wrong with the adapter and camera contacts in some manner.   Perhaps others might have some idea for you as well.  r/ Mark

I mean every thing is working I can check the images from the sd card, I can see all the readings on the screen. But it just black.  I think it's the adapter issue. May be it's out of tolerance.

Check your PASM settings (whatever that is called). Have you set camera to aperture priority mode? 

Or try this: setting camera to manual and open up aperture to maximum and then change shutter speed to lower and lower.

Thanks it's working now I dont know what setting I toggle with but it's working  Lol. But I see flashing red light below the menu button!

Crownmagon,   You might take a look at the manual.  If you don't have one, you can download it free from the Leica Camera Ag website under Support.  BTW, the flashing red light means the camera is going to brick itself if you don't read the manual....just my experience....LOL.  Good to hear you got it working.  r/ Mark

The light stopped flashing once I removed the sdcard ! May be I should get a fresh one not one from my m system.

Crowmagon,  The red flashing light normally means the camera is still recording the image.  You should never remove the SD card while the red light is flashing.  I also suggest you download your images to your computer, then delete the files and then use a app called SD Card Formatter (free).  Use that app to reformat your SD card.  Once done, then format the SD card in camera.  The manual will really help you keep from destroying both camera and images.   r/ Mark

Will do that thanks. I removed the card after turning it off. Lol

im gonna get a new card don’t wanna take any chance lol I think I saved the camera for now.

I can understand your urgency to use the camera, but, surely a quick study of the manual online would have been wise.. If you bought it ‘used’ I have always found it wise to do a Reset and input your own settings.. Looking forward to seeing some of your images…😎

Yes that’s next thing I did reset the setting. lol wish I did it in the beginning. U r right my adapter got just deliver while I ready to leave to work. All this happened in 10 mins time. I couldn’t even focus on my job , just googling what went wrong lol. I just got back from work  toggle some settings and fixed it.

If you use a card from another system without formatting you are sure to run into trouble.
