catacore Posted November 19 Share #1 Posted November 19 Advertisement (gone after registration) My M-P 240 camera might need a new skin (although the current/original vulcanite is not very worn-out) - do you happen to know who, in Europe, would offer such a service? I know about Arte di Mano, but they are based in South Corea, and I guess it will be a hustle with regards to customs (I mean I'll have to prove that it is my camera coming back and not a purchase). Thanks!

jakontil Posted November 20 Share #2 Posted November 20 Cameraworks UK? why not install it yourself? It is easier than you might think
catacore Posted November 20 Author Share #3 Posted November 20 UK is still outside EU, so same hustle with exporting/importing... I am more affraid that the old skin will not be easy to get completely removed, plus I don't have the tools to disassembly the frame selector lever and so on. I choose black. Hope this will still be possible. But I agree that it looks like the colors available not changed to the better. In the past there was also gray on offer. A few years ago I decided to change the covering of my M Monochrom and chose to buy from Aki-Asahi in Japan. Import was straightforward (the item whenpacked looks like it is a letter) and price for both the leather and the postage was reasonable to put it mildy(!). The item also arrived in a very short space of time. Removal of the old covering was straightforward and fitting the new one was just as easy. I also purchased a cover-kit for my old M2 to replace the disintegrating vulcanite and was similarly impressed. As such I would have no hesitation in recommending their covers (I have no affiliation whatsoever with the company). The M 240 page from their site; https://aki-asahi.com/store/html/M240/M240.php Here is a sample colour-swatch page; https://aki-asahi.com/store/html/material-list/LeicaM_ColorMaterialList.html Philip.
