M EV1 shutter sound is different

Bought my EV1 yesterday and have only taken a few shots , the first thing I noticed was the weight (coming from silver M11) and second was the shutter sound higher pitched and slightly louder than the M11 , I did a side by side test and yes they do sound different , I prefer the M11  sound but then I've had 3 years to get used to it.

Very slight difference indeed but it may come from brass vs aluminum (or is it magnesium?) properties.

Agree - noticed the same difference in shutter sound

Yes it is diffferent. I prefer the EV1 sound. It’s more refined in my opinion.

Perhaps it from the removal of the rangefinder , and replacement with the EVF …. Creating a different interior for the camera. Plus of course my M11 is brass and the EV1 is not.

For a time, I had both black and silver M11-Ps and noticed the same thing when comparing them side by side. The shutter sound from the silver body was slightly deeper and more muted. As stated above, I tend to agree that it comes from the different metals used (brass vs. aluminium).
