Olaf_ZG Posted yesterday at 06:14 AM Share #1 Â Posted yesterday at 06:14 AM Advertisement (gone after registration) i recently bought a demo elmar 24/3.4 from the Leica store in budapest. when I arrived home, i noticed that the aperture ring is wobbling and one can here a tick if one moved the ring forward (the wobble direction). Next to this, the focus is very light: all my other lenses were tighter. for the rest, the lens functions normally. Should I worry about this? Should I may be send it in for a check? thanks. Advertisement Posted yesterday at 06:14 AM Posted yesterday at 06:14 AM Hi Olaf_ZG, Take a look here Wobble and tick in my Elmar. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Kl@usW. Posted yesterday at 07:46 AM Share #2  Posted yesterday at 07:46 AM Just checked my 24/3,4--no wobble and no click here. In my experience, wobbling and unusual clicking doesn't vanish by itself, so I would return it. K.
LocalHero1953 Posted yesterday at 08:01 AM Share #3 Â Posted yesterday at 08:01 AM It appears to be a characteristic of modern M lenses that their aperture rings are looser than owners expect - as if Leica designs them for looseness. There have been many comments/complaints about similar behaviour over the years; my own Apo-Summicron-M 50 Asph had a loose-ish ring - OK for me, but others found it too loose. I'm not saying yours is fine - but perhaps at the (unacceptable) far end of an intentional design spectrum.
lct Posted 17 hours ago Share #4 Â Posted 17 hours ago The focus ring of my 24/3.8 is a bit loose but no wobble and no click here. I would return the lens too.
