i recently bought a demo elmar 24/3.4 from the Leica store in budapest.

when I arrived home, i noticed that the aperture ring is wobbling and one can here a tick if one moved the ring forward (the wobble direction). Next to this, the focus is very light: all my other lenses were tighter.

for the rest, the lens functions normally. Should I worry about this? Should I may be send it in for a check?

thanks.

It appears to be a characteristic of modern M lenses that their aperture rings are looser than owners expect - as if Leica designs them for looseness. There have been many comments/complaints about similar behaviour over the years; my own Apo-Summicron-M 50 Asph had a loose-ish ring - OK for me, but others found it too loose.

I'm not saying yours is fine - but perhaps at the (unacceptable) far end of an intentional design spectrum.
