PeLu Posted Tuesday at 08:47 PM Share #1 Posted Tuesday at 08:47 PM (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Ok, I know there was 10 thousands made but for some reasons I have been looking for a red dial IIIf. They look nice and have a better viewfinder. I think one of those benefits was enough to buy one… My first was a regular black dial advertised as a ”Red dial”. 🤔 Fail. Me not recommending Catawiki… Next try was this camera. Local find that included box, hangtag, manual, a flash and some more paperwork. Box doesn’t carry the correct serial number and the hangtag might not be correct either. After closer inspection the ”blacked” part seams to be numbers ”202” followed by a signature. I thought it was a s/n for another camera. But what it is - I don’t know? Please let me know if you have an idea. Most important is that it seams to be in a rather good condition. An extra bonus is that the plastic tube for the lens + camera and lens hood is included. Now I’ll load some film and give it its first outing in 13 years. (It also came with a flash and some ascessories which I will let rest for the time) Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted Tuesday at 08:47 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:47 PM Hi PeLu, Take a look here Part II of ”Red Dial Hunt”. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
TomB_tx Posted Tuesday at 09:05 PM Share #2 Posted Tuesday at 09:05 PM Looks like a good find. I have IIIf in both BD and RD and find both equally usable. One of my BDs had the RF updated and is the brightest III series RF I've seen. Lately I've been using a IIIg for its nicer finder (Parallax correct frame lines) and standard shutter speeds - but with a taller body. Each variation has its strong points.

I would like a ”g” as well. However I have gone mad and have in a short time acquired both a M3 and a M4 + some lenses. I really got sucked in to this Leica thing…😱
