Robinyuill Posted 23 hours ago Share #1 Â Posted 23 hours ago Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi there. I've got an M8 on trial and it's hardly used and in perfect condition. The question of getting UV/IR filters is proving difficult but if I can get a few for the lenses I intend using on the camera, is there anything against leaving them on when using the filtered lenses on my M9 monochrom or the SL2s. Is it going to affect the colour on the SL images? Â It's not a deal breaker but I can just leave the favourite filtered lens on the M8. Regards Robin. Advertisement Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Hi Robinyuill, Take a look here UV/IR filter question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted 22 hours ago Share #2  Posted 22 hours ago On your M9M you can leave them on, your images will be slightly sharper and the colour  😜 will not be affected. On the SL2S, maybe a spot of colour vignetting on some wideangle lenses, but personally I would not bother taking them off. BTW, B+W 486 filters are easily available, for instance on Amazon, but basically with any decent camera shop.  They are better quality than the Leica ones which were made by Marumi.
