rick_dykstra Posted October 30 Share #1 Posted October 30 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello everyone. Here is my Leica R8 Disassembly - Part 2 video. The shutter is removed and disassembled too. Then I do some repairs on a few winding issues. There's some surprises. As mentioned with Part 1, I am on the hunt for a new, like-new or undamaged shutter. Also, if anyone feels inspired to pull the bottom off their R8 we could compare notes on what you see. I'm curious about the sensor-switches and parts that feature in this video. Regards, Rick. 2

Thanks for sharing. Hi Siri. Yeah, it looks scary, but you know what? It’s actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. I shouldn’t have hesitated for so long, since bashing up the shutter with a film leader while mucking around with the motor-drive, years ago. I will say though, while it’s easy enough to pull the camera apart and put it back together, it’s quite difficult to figure out how it works and what does what. But if you stare at it long enough and think hard, the occasional little lightning bolt goes off and things fall into place. Regards, Rick.
