35 & 90 Lenses advice

I’m so exited with all fantastic vintage Leica gear. I’m afraid the moderators will block me soon since I’m flooding the forum with post. Sorry. I can’t help myself. 😊

Now the lenses. 
Both the 90mm and the 35 mm where in excellent shape. But how will I clean the elements? They look very good but I think there is something on the frontlenses. I would like to whipe them to make sure they are clean. I have read that especially the 50mm Summicron has very sensitive coatings. Isopropyl alcohol & soft cloth?

My M11 is in Wetzlar at the moment and I can’t wait to try the lenses. How does the 35mm goggles work with the modern cameras? What frames will show up and how will I interpret them? Im sure I’ll keep the 90mm but I already have two 35mm (one modern and one 8-e) so I might sell the Elmar. I have tried to search for pricing of these but I haven’t found anyone in similar condition for both lens and leather case. Ideas appreciated.

Don't worry.. 42 posts is not too much... (see my number... and I think I am not in top ten...😄)

The goggled Summaron will work on M11 as it has always done in any M 24x36 camera : brings up 50mm frame, which goggles enlarge to 35mm... enjoy it !

The 3-elements Elmar, if clean and in good shape, is still an enjoiable and light 90, also very appreciable in macro environment, for which you have many choices from current and historical accessories. Yours looks to need an adjustement in the f/stop mech... apparently, goes a liitle to much below the f4 sign.

Yes, I understand that. I will try to carefully blow all dust away, but I don't know what kind of solution I dare to wipe the from lens with. Some of the tissues that are for glasses are made of quite hard "paper" + unknown solution. Maybe one could mix diluted water with Isopropylalcohol + one drop of tensid? + a very soft cloth?

Let it go! Two hours later there is dirt again. Compared with the total surface of the lens, the dirt is negligible.

I've found that if I have to wipe a lens initially after getting it, after blowing off any dust, that a soft cotton ball lightly moistened with propyl alcohol, lightly over the surface, followed by a fine microfiber cloth for drying the surface, like those used for eyeglasses. After initial cleaning, only a puff of air or fine hair lens cleaning brush thereafter. Like others said, light dust isn't a big issue compared to the effects of poor cleaning techniques.
