raphael Posted September 26 Share #1 Posted September 26 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was planning to buy this lens, but I’m not sure whether it shows some serious amount of fungus or dust between the elements. Is this acceptable or concerning? Will it affect my photographs? Der Fungus kann auch Deine Kamera befallen, wenn das Objektiv montiert ist. earleygallery Posted September 26 Share #5 Posted September 26 I can’t tell if it’s fungus but whatever it is I would be looking for another lens!

farnz Posted September 26 Share #7 Posted September 26 Advertisement (gone after registration) Contrary to an earlier post that stated that it's definitely fungus because it's lighter spots, it's not fungus. Fungus creates a mycelium, which is a root-like structure that spreads sideways so that the fungus can grow on (across) the lens. this might be dust and there might be haze - the light is too bright to tell - but I agree with James and I'd be looking for another lens. There's no shortage of used 50/1.4 Summilux asph lenses out there that are in much better condition than this one. Pete.
