I have a Tuenne "Mammut Crag Workhorse Storm Strap" that I like, except it feels like it'll beat the crap out of the camera body. The ends are metal and with the split rings, they tap and scrape against the body. I don't baby my camera, but I also don't wilfully abuse it either.

Does anyone have a solution they've used? I'm using gaffers tape at the moment.

Often straps will have a small leather washer like for instance these Leica A-La-Carte straps. Most good brands have similar protection. Such a washer is quite simple to make yourself.

Personally I use Peak Design straps, which are without metal in the connector and eminently practical. For the camera you show I might consider a Luigi Crescenzi "Genuis" strap.

I am a fan of peak Designs and have a number of their bags and straps.  However, I am moving away from their straps because of the metal attachments.  The back faces of the connectors that loop onto the camera and the adjusting buckles on the straps are metal. With the wide straps - big buckles. I found myself needing to wrap the strap when I put a camera in a bag.  I am now seeking a soft simple leather strap with no metal attachments.  Just deciding which from several I have found on line.  While I am here, I have a Leica rope strap without any metal and find it too bulky and stiff.  I saw a lovely cloth strap in our local Leica store at over AUD300 which I thought extortionate.  Quality brilliant but cost unjustifiable.

To the OP. You say you like that strap, but although you can protect against the split ring with a leather washer, if the ends of the strap are metal as well as you say - that's just poor design. I would find something better.

That's a funny looking M11 in your photo by the way.😉

A strap that’s likely to scratch your camera body is not a strap you can ‘like’.

It’s similar to saying: I like this photo — but unfortunately the main subject is out of focus. How can you really like that photo?

Not sure who LocalHero is talking to (OP?) but I can say I like my neighbour.  He has bad breath but I will not cancel him for that.   And I have ordered a SmallRigg leather strap which will not scratch the camera and is securely attached by split rings.

OP = Original Poster

It saves quoting the original post in full, or appearing to respond to the immediately preceding post. I assumed, mistakenly, it was an familiar abbreviation.
