Leicaseller Posted September 5 Share #1 Posted September 5 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I recently inherited an M8 together with five Elmarit lenses. I'm planning to sell these and I'm looking for advice on anything to consider when doing this, and how to get a fair price for them. Is ebay the way to go? Should I sell the pieces seperately? Is there any particular information about the lenses (other than the obvious), that I should make sure I list? Thanks in advance.
Advertisement Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Hi Leicaseller, Take a look here What to consider when selling a Leica M8 and Elmarit lenses. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted September 5 Share #2 Posted September 5 If you want to sell through this forum you will have to use the classified section. Buying or evaluating through the regular forums is prohibited. There are plenty of places to sell: Here, Dealer, eBay, Facebook, Fred Miranda, etc. I would advise selling separately. However, have somebody in the know (not in this forum!) determine condition and reasonable price expectation.
farnz Posted September 6 Share #3 Posted September 6 In terms of what you need to disclose to a potential buyer you must tell buyers if your M8 is suffering from 'coffee stain' where the rear LCD screen looks like it has a coffee stain across it or around its edges. This is caused by failure of the edge-sealing over time and is not repairable by Leica since it has no more replacement screens. The same of course goes for a LCD screen that's not working at all, which happens to some M8s. Pete.
