lct Posted August 28 Share #2 Â Posted August 28 The name of the lens or a photo of it could help.
adan Posted August 29 Share #3  Posted August 29 It is a very recent lens - 2015 lenses started with SN 4400001, per the most recent list of Leica lens SNs I could find. Whereas the 50mm non-ASPH Summilux-M reissue from Feb. 2025 shows a number of 4947xxx in its portrait on the announcement at the top of this forum page. And the 35mm APO-Summicron-M-ASPH, introduced in 2021, shows at lease one SN of 47900xx. So approximately a 2019-2021 production date. Covid manufacturing disruptions make it hard to be any more specific. Lens type? Leica uses one single continuous SN sequence for all its lenses across all its mounts: M, SL, TL/CL, S. So without additional information, it could be any of those that were in production at about that time.
