m1nge Posted August 26 Share #1  Posted August 26 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi All, Just thought I would get some opinions for those who have dealt with Leica directly on repairs. I am a second owner of steel rim reissue - the red dot has not moved slightly and no longer aligns with the f-stop numbers. Not a huge issue but I decided to take it down to Leica Singapore. I don't have the original purchase receipt and from what I understand the original purchase was through a reseller. It's still under warranty from what I understand. Leica Singapore said they will fix the alignment but requested a 500SGD handling fee (one reason they gave was because it was not purchased from an official Leica Store). I might be better off sending the lens to directly to Germany or just take it there myself on my next trip. Anyone have any experience with dealing with Leica repairs ?  Thanks in advance

lct Posted August 26 Share #2 Â Posted August 26 The warranty is still valid in Wetzlar, but you will have to send the camera there.
adamdewilde Posted August 29 Share #3  Posted August 29 Write into Leica Germany and complain. This is in violation of the terms set in the warranty. Don’t let Sunil get away with price gouging. Leica Germany should know how they’re behaving in Singapore. The warranty BTW goes with the product not the original purchaser. And if there is doubt about the validity of the warranty refer to the serial date of manufacture.  Leica Singapore also charges at a minimum 20% higher than other authorised dealers in the region. We are getting cheated from all angles and if we don’t all speak up how is Germany going to make things right and protect their brand image??
