F-train Posted August 8 Share #21 Posted August 8 Advertisement (gone after registration) Only a strap would be ok Bob! You can use the rest of your funding for an extra SD card. (Reminds me of my first SLR, a Mamiya DSX. After months of working I could buy the camera, only to find out I had no money left for film…)
Advertisement Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Hi F-train, Take a look here Feedback Welcome: Leica Q3 Accessories. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mmanda Posted August 8 Share #22 Posted August 8 Across every M/Q group there's a post about bags and straps. I've been thinking it would be awesome to have like an accessories forum OR a place to put an overall thread discussing all of these types of accessories. You could link to it in each sub forum as a sticky to direct readers to the post. . Would also stop the eye rolls from some members everytime a new bag post is put up some people love this and some dont. Kinda like the lens forums I suppose.
Paul W Posted August 8 Share #23 Posted August 8 I was very pleased to discover the Helium 3 grip for the Q3 - https://www.heliumlab.design/shop/p/leica-q3-hg-he3. I had previously bought the leica thumb grip and look at various half-cases. This helium 3 is perfect for me, and I think well-worth looking at. It allows for an apple airtag, is light, looks great and provides very good support. The designer Ed was very approachable too.

Denebola Posted August 8 Share #29 Posted August 8 I discovered (thanks to many Leica owners) the bags produced by Wotancraft, and I found them vastly superior to any other. I like especially the Pilot travel camera bag 7l . I see to that this producer is quite appreciated by other subscriber of this forum. I have one Pilot 7L for my Q3 and Q3-43 and one for my M11 and Q2 Monochrom. Great bags and attaching accessories. Even my local authorized dealer agrees. 😉 Edited August 8 by Fran D added product type and fixed a typo

I need the swarm intelligence of the assembled Leica Q3 / Leica Q3 43 photographers here in the forum: As a summer project, I have set up a page specifically for Leica Q3 / Leica Q3 43 accessories. At the moment it is still in beta stage: There are still some pictures and links missing The texts have not all been critically proofread yet (you will certainly find some stylistic blossoms) Above all, however, the structure and product selection are not yet perfect - I would like to tap into your knowledge. Structure I currently have these categories - is there anything missing? Cameras Batteries Chargers Memory cards Bags Halfcases Straps Grips Soft releases Thumb grip Lens caps Lens hoods Filters Viewfinder accessories Products Do you have any accessory recommendations for the Leica Q3 that might be useful for others? Or manufacturers similar to Smallrig, Haoge or Oberwerth that I should take a closer look at? Especially when it comes to “bags” and “straps”, I'm sure there are many tips from your side... Further feedback Do you have any other spontaneous suggestions on how to increase the usefulness of the site? Feel free to comment here! Disclaimer To avoid misunderstandings: This project is also about financing the forum. Some links are so-called affiliate links - if someone clicks on them and buys something, the forum receives a small commission, which finances the operation of the forum and our work. I ask for your understanding that I keep discussions in this direction out of this thread. This project is very important to me because everyone benefits from it: The forum financially, the forum participants with good product recommendations. » Leica Q3 Accessories THe IDS grip is great, I have had one on my Q2M for a few years and have one on my Q3 and Q3 43. So much better than the Leica product. (I also have them on Ms)

ellisson Posted August 8 Share #33 Posted August 8 (edited) Another vote for the Helium Design lab Q3 grip (https://www.heliumlab.design/) but the included thumb rest option partially interferes with my use of the closest small settings button on the camera, so I simply omit that part - easily done. The OEM thumb grip works fine with this grip. Edited August 8 by ellisson

It allows for an apple airtag, is light, looks great and provides very good support. The designer Ed was very approachable too. The Helium Design Lab grip also allows one to utilize the aforementioned JJC "eye cup" extension wherein the hot shoe is available for attachment, assuming flash is not a requirement, whereas you'd have to remove the JJC "eye cup", to utilize the hot shoe but an easy quick removal. Simply stating that the Helium grip provides both handgrip & thumb grip and alleviates the use of the hot shoe so you can use other attachments, one being a flash or the JJC viewfinder "extended" eye cup. My experience with both Ed and Hugh, the designers of the Helium Design Labs were in fact very outgoing when I reach out to them, very uncommon now days. Very pleasant experience and I wish them the best. Their design is obviously expensive but what really isn't with regard to Leica feature products. It's worth the price in my personal opinion and by far the best of the best (yes, a luxury item) option for a hand, thumb grip with the added feature of security tag concealment.
