espelt Posted July 17 Share #41 Â Posted July 17 Advertisement (gone after registration) Many very nice 50mm lenses have already been mentioned here. One is still missing, in my opinion: the Elmar M 2.8. It's wonderfully small when folded down. And the imaging performance is truly excellent. A great all-rounder. It looks fantastic in silver on a black M... Even though it's probably already become a Chron (a classic anyway), you can never have enough 50mm lenses. Whether it's a 90-year-old Summar or a Nikon 1.4 or 1.2 - there's so much to play with...

lct Posted July 17 Share #42 Â Posted July 17 Another vote for the Elmar-M 50/2.8. Best triplet 50 in my book. Late copies were 6-bit coded and earlier ones can be coded by Leica IINW. I mean Elmar-M (11831, 11823), not Elmar (11112) as the later cannot be coded AFAIK.
