The F-35 is touted by our top military people as the ultimate fighter jet. This one was photographed this morning right after takeoff from Truax Air Field in Madison--one of just a couple of major squadrons in the US.

In the past few hours, Iran has shot down three of these jets, supplied to Israel by the US. Something to think about.

Not a great track record for a plane that costs around $80 million.

Beautiful!  Hegseth has cut the orders for new F-35s from 48 to 24 to put that money into the NGAD 6thj generation a/c.  Actually, the F-22 is a more advanced, more capable a/c.

and its still there, "officially" it was low on fuel and couldn't land on the carrier because of bad weather, but apparently they found a lot of mechanical malfunctions and other issues upon inspection

I wouldn't mind seeing the F-35s completely dumped. They are a nuisance in my community. When they are logging flight hours over the city, conversation stops. The decibel level is absurdly high.

The people I really feel sorry for are those in low income housing near the airport. When trying to sell the city on bringing this squadron here, the Feds said they'd provide $millions for people in those areas to use for sound insulation and improved windows. Our fearless leaders have now reneged on that and cut the funds. Why? Because this city is one of the most liberal in the country. We vote deep blue.

The images I've seen look like obvious fakes. The same goes for a pic allegedly showing a shot-down B-2.

Anyway, just thought to stay on track with the original posters intentions. Nice photo! The D-Lux 8 is a great little camera. I have been eyeing one off myself.
