PCPix Posted June 8 Share #1 Posted June 8 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm about to do some video work for a client with my SL2 and I have thus far not found an answer to this SD card storage dilemma. In stills, you can do SD1=SD2 where the camera writes all images to both cards, i.e. SD2 is an identical (backup) of SD1. In video, despite the SD1=SD2 icon showing on the top screen, the remaining time value seems to be a total of the capacity of both cards i.e: fill up SD1 then go onto SD2. When filming test clips, there is only one version saved on SD1 and nothing on SD2. So the question: Is it possible to have a backup written in camera as you're shooting? No mention of this in the manual (ahem... yes I did force myself to look!) Edited June 8 by PCPix

Luke_Miller Posted June 8 Share #3 Posted June 8 You might look at recording to an external recorder with card as bsckup.

Does that create a backup i.e. does it record to SD card and also to the recorder via HDMI?
