setuporg Posted June 2 Share #1 Posted June 2 Advertisement (gone after registration) In my attempts to make the M-P a vlogger camera, I've obtained a multifunctional grip, for its remote image uploading. I thought it would be live vew but it's just image shuttle. In theory you could take trial shots with a laptop and a long cable, but in reality using manual focus on a stand-in object is much easier. However, the grip proved a fun and useful option. It's really comfortable and also adds GPS. The problem is, the M240 battery that used to last forever now lasts a day, as if it were an M10 or Q battery. Do folks have the same experience with GPS on? fotomas Posted June 2 Share #2 Posted June 2 (edited) Mostly I have the GPS off because it is claimed that it will drain the battery faster. But in the last few weeks I left it on, because it was usefull. I couldn't see a great difference on the batteries if it was on. I also use the M 240 some times for video. It is IMHO not a ideal solution for video, but in some areas it shines. Mostly I use a camcorder, but it often struggles with it's autofocus. For scenes I need a fixed focus I take the Leica. Also the ability to use faster and character lenses, with a rather shallow depth of field due to the larger sensor size is often a unique benefit. Especially in low light situations. If you have the MFH you can also use the external power supply, if the batteries don't last long enough and being connected to a cable won't hurt.
