FMJ71 Posted June 1 Share #1 Â Posted June 1 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can someone help please. I bought a Leica T from MPB and although it took ages to charge it finally booted up. When I attach my TT Artisan L mount lens (after seeing many reviews on it) the screen is blank. I have picked manual mode and aperture priority (as suggested in another forum) and still no picture. The T shutter activates without a lens but won't with this lens attached ...what am I doing wrong??
Advertisement Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Hi FMJ71, Take a look here Leica T and TT Artisan. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tommonego@gmail.com Posted June 1 Share #2  Posted June 1 When mounting the lens: Did it seem very tight while mounting the lens? Was there a click at the end of mounting the lens? Have you used this lens on another camera? The problem with the inexpensive Chinese lenses is that there qualty control is lacking. I bought a TT Artisan 35 f1.4 for my CL, when I received it it was very loose, litterly shaking while mounted. I contacted TT Artisan and they sent me 2 lens mounts with a screwdriver for their screws, I changed a mount and it was very tight, tried the other and it was just right. I have to comment on excellent service, but that is how the lens should have come in the first place, I didn't need a Goldilocks experience. I am suspecting the lens isn't completing the mounting action.

Hmm wondering which lens.  I have a couple of TT Artisan - use on TL2, they work ok but the 50mm 1.2 gives problems occasionally.  Usually sorted by removing the lens and re-attaching.  I actually find setting the camera to shutter priority works best with left function button set to zoom in for focus.
Boojay Posted June 1 Share #4 Â Posted June 1 Just re-read that - meant aperture priority obviously, brain fog. Â
andy3009 Posted June 1 Share #5  Posted June 1 This occasionally happens with the 35/0.95 on my Leica CL. After a quick panic it comes back by rotating the lens a little, last time it was anticlockwise.
FMJ71 Posted June 2 Author Share #6 Â Posted June 2 TT Artisan 50mm 1.2. literally nothing on the screen? Won't take but with no lens it will activate the shutter... V odd

But the other issue is the body despite showing full charge once you turn off won't turn on without taking the battery out....the. You put it back in and all is ok showing full charge. Bought from MPB and usually they are ok This whole buying and lens debacle has been awful and I'm totally regretting it all 😩😩

The tolerances of the production must be narrow. Every lens must fit on every camera. And correspondent with every rangefinder mechanism. A reason why Leica lenses are not cheap. FMJ71 Posted June 3 Author Share #10  Posted June 3 Yeah I wanted autofocus but because I have the silver body Leica T there aren't any AF lenses that TT Artisan make in L mount silver alas. Perhaps I should try a different brand.  ?

If you want af and aps-c mount in silver other than TT Artisan I think there is the Leica 18TL, 35TL and 60TL from Leica, but Sigma are introducing some FF silver lenses to compliment the BF, full frame but lovely lenses.  I couldn't resist the 45mm 2.8, size is good for the TL.
