All went well except I could not reset the FN2 from Photo/ Video

A long press of Fn2 and selection of an alternative did appear to work but then in customise it would not allow the Photo/Video to change from on to off

Solved it by deleting that particular affected profile and recreating a fresh one

FN 2 was altered in other  profiles without this issue

Fotos would not link after FW update. Had to delete Q3 on iPad, and iPad on Q3 then re-sync. Once re-synched all good.

"The requirements of Lot6/Lot26, Regulation (EU) 2023/826 on ecodesign are supported
This firmware update ensures that the camera now complies with the latest EU ecodesign regulations, making the Leica Q3 and Q3 43 more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient."

Does anyone know what has been changed in order to comply wih this regulation?

Once they reach the age of 5 years, they will automatically throw themselves away in the electronic items recycling bin.

If someone would, please explain toggling the focus point.  I get the convenience of using a function button....but, lost as to how to "toggle".  I can move the focus point now with little or no effort using the "Directional Pod".  I am clearly missing something that I need to learn.

Many thanks, indeed!!

Sort of neat. First push moves it from where you placed the focus point back to center (like double tapping the screen does) and a second push "toggles" it back to where you had it set.  Not sure the toggle part is that helpful (could be) but a button push to recenter the focus point is quite helpful (and used all the time on my Nikons).  You can, if slightly bored, keep pushing the toggle assigned function button and watch the focus point move back and forth!  Since I don't use the LCD screen that much when photographing, this new feature is a nice addition.

Thank you sooo much, Robert.  Now, I am the complete Q3 guy...yeah, right!!  It's like the 10% of my iPhone's capabilities that I actually use.  But, we keep trying.  And, I do get bored easily.

Sadly, I am having no luck.  I put the "Toggle Focus Point" on the Function Button #2 and it doesn't respond (recenter the focus point).  I apparently need more hand holding.

When I first tried it out, nothing seemed to happen.  Then I figured out the focus point was already in the center.  Moving the focus point to a different place and then pushing the function button snapped the point back to center (and next push back to the other location,etc.).

Did the update with no issues but afterwards my reaction was:  "There's nothing here to see, move along..."  🙄

Next update I'm looking for:

Internal memory - can't believe there isn't some "data space" available for at least a bit of that.

Option to view the "crops" in the VF as EITHER the boxes as now or full frame.

Robert...made a discovery.  I have six profiles set up.  I was using my "Street" profile to test the toggle feature.  I shifted to my "Action" profile and the "Toggle Focus Point" responds to center the focus just fine.  So, there is some setting in my "Street" profile that is not letting the "Toggle Focus Point" work.  Any thoughts on which setting that might be?  Or, I can just go through each profile to see where the different setting shows up.

I just played around with the "AF Mode" selections and it seems that the "Eye/Face/Body Detection" settings, when they are not detecting something don't seem to respond to the toggle switching.  The focus point (when not detecting anything) can be moved with the directional pad but the "toggle button" does not bring it back to center.   In my quick look, neither the direction pad or "toggle switch" work with "Multi-Field".  All others (Spot, Field, Zone, tracking) look to have focusing spot(s) that move with the direction pad and can toggle back to center with the "toggle switch".  I mainly use "Field" and like the toggle feature in this mode.

Boy, you broke the code, Robert.  In my "Street" profile, I had "Eye/Face/Body Detection" selected.  Changing to "Field", the toggle was working just as advertised!  Thank you for getting me closer to being the Q Guy I want to be!!

Have a great week!!
