brickftl Posted April 23 Share #1 Posted April 23 Advertisement (gone after registration) thought I'd share this. I sometimes post pics on this forum - most recently M Lenses, the thread on Summilux 50 pre-asph lens. I was having issues creating a one-click Photoshop action that would automatically resize an image to comply with Leica Forum posting requirements (max pixel size for length/width and overall size not to exceed 2.73MB), so I asked ChatGPT who said I needed a script that Photoshop would read, applying step by step everything that needed to be done to an image to comply with the posting rules. Then it asked if I wanted it to create the script, I said yes, and in 5 seconds it produced a downloadable script that I access from Photoshop - run the script and voila the image is resized as needed. AMAZING! If anyone wants a copy of the script, PM me and I'll send it to you. CAVEAT: I can't guaranty it will work properly for you as it does for me. Advertisement Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Hi brickftl, Take a look here Photoshop Script: Resize and Save JPEGs Under 2.73MB for Forum Uploads. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
brickftl Posted April 23 Author Share #2 Posted April 23 (edited) yes I tried that and for some reason not every image was being reduced in size to 2.73MB. When i ran my action after creating it, sometimes the overall MP size was under the 2.73MB threshold, other times it wasn't. I asked Chat GPT why. ChatGPT said that if the original file was too large, then there was a limit how low the image could be downsized even thought it complied with the pixel height/width limits. So it came up with the script. Edited April 23 by brickftl
brickftl Posted April 23 Author Share #3 Posted April 23 (edited) also as part of the script, it will keep running a loop (takes maybe 2 seconds) as needed in order to get the image as close to the 2.73MB limit as possible without going over. If you simply do a "save as" command, you may end up with an image that's say 800KB in size. Basically I want the image to appear when posted as large as possible while still complying with the rules. Edited April 23 by brickftl
