ColeLeica Posted April 21 Share #1 Posted April 21 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I just signed up to this forum and was wondering if anyone else had this problem. After I take a photo half of the frame is under or over exposed. Sometimes is will just show a box on a quarter of the screen. 4-5 photos would have this issue, than the last would be fine. Now every photo has this issue. I have had this M8 over four years now and I cherish it. I am worried something is wrong with the sensor. Can this be fixed? Thanks, Cole Welcome, dear visitor! earleygallery Posted April 21 Share #2 Posted April 21 Unfortunately I think the sensor has failed. It’s made up of two halves hence the fact that you’re seeing it affects one half of the image.
jaapv Posted April 21 Share #3 Posted April 21 And doubly unfortunate, it cannot be replaced any more.
ColeLeica Posted April 21 Author Share #4 Posted April 21 Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. That sucks. I guess I will have to add it to my wall of camera past. Thanks for the help.
jaapv Posted April 21 Share #5 Posted April 21 Well, the repair would have set you back close to 2000 € anyway, so it would be cheaper to buy another M8.
84bravo Posted April 22 Share #6 Posted April 22 It does appear to be a bad sensor. However, try a different SD card and see if that makes a difference.
tommonego@gmail.com Posted April 22 Share #7 Posted April 22 Advertisement (gone after registration) If it had only been the first picture, it reminded me of a failed shutter on my M2s. But the second image points directly to the sensor. Find another M8. Find a 4 or 8gb San Disk SDHC card and try that, but I still think its the sensor.
