Prices increased in Canada.$9,142 for a MP to the minute after midnight, but when our Canadian $ increased 8% in value there wasn’t a peep with lower prices…my purchased new in 86 M6 and 20 year M3 purchase will be CLA’d a second time, refuse to pay this kind of money until Leica shows me the machining is done in Germany and not just assembled.

Leica has had a factory in Portugal for over 50 years. I'm sure they do some of the machining there. They also previously made the M4-2 and M4-P in Canada, which saved the M line at the time. You need to go back in time to find an M that is 100% made in Germany.

I know,I have an R4 and some Canadian R lenses, actually a Canadian R135 2.8 that is as sharp with better color rendition than any M lenses I have.

I wasn’t thinking Portugal or Canada.

I thought I'd read that the price increase would be for newly arriving items.

Leica M11 Rangefinder Camera - Glossy Black

30 April - $9,150.00

1 May - $9,840.00

I still love my M10 and Q2, as they become more classic, still very use-able, reliable, and a pleasure to use.

As of this morning, it appears at leas in the US, the 7% increase has taken effect.  The SL3 is not $7,495.00, up from $6,995.00.  This is true for most of the major US online retailers except B&H, as they still show the older pricing.  Lecia Store Miami and San Francisco, both show the updated amounts.  Note, the San Francisco, website is still offline, but has notes to imply the new costs will be active once the site returns.

The SL3 battery did go up 90%, as it's now $380.00.  Wow.

I understand Leica needs to respond to tariffs, but I find it frustrating that the 7% increase was applied to products already in U.S. stores before the tariffs were in place. It feels like customers are being asked to shoulder more than just the actual tariff impact. I’d really appreciate more clarity from Leica on how this decision was made.

As far as I know, there are only these two locations where production takes place. What other locations are you thinking of or do you know of?

Just heard from my dealer, that Leica informed them that on May 1, all products will be increased by 7%,  More for the battery,  I believe 90%, so back to close to 300.00 for a new cell.  D-Lux (not sure what that is) 75%.

I realize that every year Leica has some form of a price increase, however it tends not to be across the entire product line.

Leica has raise the M11 battery 90% to US$380 or €336. Right now the ex VAT price for M11 battery in Europe is €145 or 38% the price for the same thing in the USA.

Peta Pixel just posted an article about this today.
