Love The Netherlands; and has had a major hand in getting me back into photography!

To keep a very long story short, I am a very keen cyclist, I raced regularly in British championship time trials, but I went to The Netherlands two years ago, which made me realise that cycling is actually quite dangerous in England; I had not been to Nederland for ten or so years and the progress they have made in respect to cycling infrastructure is quite breathtaking; considering they were (pun intended) already miles ahead of the UK when it comes to this decades ago! It is one of those things that you don't realise something until you see it from a different angle. In my situation, cycling was just something I did, without being aware how bad things had got; and only cycling in The Netherlands made me realise how terrible it was. In the UK, cycling is really grim; from the terrible state of the roads to the increased car traffic. As a result, I no longer ride my bike much, making me get back into photography as my main hobby. In a way it is a bit of a shame, but the silver lining is that I have completed my R lens outfit including the rather exotic 400mm f/2.8, if I was still cycling i don't think I would have got back into photography quite as much!

Anyway, here is a photo taken with the SL 601, 50mm f/2 R lens of Aagtekere church, Walcheren, Zeeland.

In addition to the 400, I have also acquired a 19mm f/2.8 V2 R lens, so I obviously need to go back to Zeeland and try these lenses out there!

Taken at Tulip Barn, Amsterdam

The colours of spring in Amsterdam is truly amazing.

The photo below was taken with a Leica Super Summicron on the Insta360 One RS and it offers a unique snail’s eye view from the tulip plantation.

Maybe I should have brought along my TTArtisan 11mm Fisheye so that I can try it with my SL3
