Mikep996 Posted April 12 Share #1 Posted April 12 Advertisement (gone after registration) Re stabilization/hand-shake... I was wondering if, with OIS on Auto, the camera applies OIS based on crop factor/shutter speed. At 28mm convention suggests 1/30 sec minimum shutter speed to eliminate hand shake while at 90mm it would be 1/125. Or, when set to auto, does it just apply OIS anytime the shutter speed drops below something like 1/125 which would normally compensate for hand-shake with a 90mm lens? IOW, is the OIS constantly variable or is it fixed to activate only at/below some specific shutter speed?
Advertisement Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Hi Mikep996, Take a look here Does the OIS vs shutter speed compensate for "crop factor?". I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
JNK100 Posted April 12 Share #2 Posted April 12 I understand it activates at 1/60 without any other variables being factored in.

SrMi Posted April 13 Share #4 Posted April 13 OIS activates at 1/60 or slower for Q3/Q2/Q and 1/100 or slower for Q3 48.
