Tough one really as the colour of the camera is an emotional choice so the left side of the brain goes to sleep a little. I can only speak for what I would do and out of the options you have stated, it would definitely be trading the Q2M for either an FLE or APO 35mm and retaining the silver M11. Good luck in your decision making!

if the money is not a subject, go for it.

otherwise pay 1/3 of the price and get the regular summicron with 90% of the quality.

I'd like to think this way with the trade in value of the Q2M. That I can get it at a discount. And I am thinking If ever I don't bond with it, I can always sell it because lenses

holds value well. Lets see, can't wait for my travel.

Thanks Jimmy, what are your thoughts on the 35 apo summicron?

tbh with you, I don't see any of the Leica later offerings to be attractive. We have passed a point of chasing absolute image quality I think. The apo 35 is still big (almost the size and weight of a summilux).

I really wish Leica would produce some small/lightweight, yet high quality lenses. For example, a summicron that has the image quality of the current asph with the size of 7-ele or even smaller/lighter. But that's just me. I am just bored with all these perfect lenses lately. I rarely use my apo50/35 these days.
