Hi

Just newly acquired my SL2-s in very good condition. When powering on the camera I notice there is a faint noise sounds like a small fan inside the body. The noise is more apparent when I activate IBIS by half pressing the shutter.   I only notice the faint noise in a quiet room.
I couldn’t find any reference if SL2 has an internal fan for heat dissipation nor fan noise elsewhere hence asking if those having similar experience please?

I have been using this camera for 3 weeks outdoor and only realise this yesterday when testing indoor.

thanks

Even IBIS is disabled and when the camera is on, I can still hear a faint whirling noise in a quiet room. I would assume there’s some electronic noise being generated inside the body even no IBIS?

On a camera fitted with IBIS the system is always on, even when IBIS is turned off. The gyros still need to run to lock the sensor, otherwise it would just flop about.
