Our lil son wanted to arrive early. Too early. A FAST drive to the hospital ensued. Then an ambulance ride to a specialty Boston hospital. The next night Leo was born at 3 LBS 10 OZ. He would spend the first 5 weeks of his life at Boston's Beth Israel Hospital's NICU unit. It was scary and emotional. My Leica M9-P helped me get through it. My lens was an Elmarit 24mm. The small, discreet and quiet camera was a joy to have during these weeks. I chronicled much of what went on. The doctors and nurses were the best. Happy 100th birthday to Leica. Thanks for the ride. A few decades ago I had an assignment to photograph the smallest premie ever to survive. My grandchildren often grab my Q3 43 - it's one of the reasons I like using a wrist strap on it - it's easier to persuade a kid to slip their hand through the loop, rather than a neck strap, which just makes the camera swing near the ground. 1 1 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
