Voigtlander Color Skopar 35mm f/3.5 makes all my other M lenses feel heavy and large.  Compact and light weight are the biggest attractions.

It is possible to separate subject from background with aperture wide open at distance of below 1.5 or 2 meters ( of course distance between subject and background is also a factor )

at f/5.6 or f/8 for greater depth of field but landscape isn't my usual subject, instead I like cityscape

M9

ISO 640

wide open because of M9's limitation of ISO

somehow light fall off at corners is more obvious in B&W files which need correction in Lr

the biggest benefit is 14mm in thickness as it makes any camera setup ( without the hood ) much portable

Nice pics. Is there a way to avoid the sunstars?

I just checked with my copy on M11-P wide open (f/3.5), f/5.6 and f/8.  No stars wide open but yes at 5.6 and stronger at 8.

Good Day to you Kent.

I have not checked one more time the file in Lr and when closely check the picture’s background ,which even Isn’t far away from the sculpture, and believe I made a mistake in what I had written as the background is sharp in focus that aperture would be smaller than f3.5.

In short, you are correct and wish you have a nice day.

Good Day to you lct.

It is my bad in making a mistake in my writing.  Aperture would be smaller than f3.5, I believe after checking the picture again.

I checked again and even at f/4 there is the beginning of stars. Wonderful lens and so much fun to use!  A nice companion to my Summaron 5.6.

Hi everyone - does anyone have solid information on whether the Color-Skopar 35 mm f/3.5 is compatible with the Leica M5’s light-meter arm?

I can confirm it works fine with the Leica M5 with no issues. The rear element doesn't protrude enough to cause any problems.

can you tell me which Leica equal lens for the 6bit-code I have the choose with the voigtländer color-skopar 35 mm f3.5?

I could if i knew the vignetting performance of the Skopar. Any idea about this?
