Emtsoh Posted February 4 Share #1  Posted February 4 Advertisement (gone after registration) hello all, Just wondering if you can help a bit with this: I am very interested to purchase a SL2s and I have read articles, watched video reviews plus read the valuable posts in this forum. Being 99% convinced that this camera is wonderful and can really deliver great results, however I have some hesitations due to a reported issue ''system error / frozen shutter over the sensor'', from some users/owners. Is there any serial batch or year which few cameras had this electronic issue or I just have to try my luck and hopefully nothing will happen? At the end: if the camera is broken on the arrival I can return it or if the error happens during warranty, then its goes to service. I am just not sure how common this issue is with this model or the SL line-up. For your info, I plan to use the SL2s (two of them perhaps or one SL2/3 and one SL2s) for not just pleasure but for wedding events as a part time job in future. Thank you for letting me know and sharing your feedback.
Advertisement Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Hi Emtsoh, Take a look here SL2s interest and a small concern. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Photoworks Posted February 4 Share #2 Â Posted February 4 there is a feed dedicated to it. But it is not that many cases to be a cause for concern. But then there was one guy that had it on 2 cameras, the question would be what else was going on over there? I have been using my 2 cameras for 5 years and that was never an issue for me
jaapv Posted February 4 Share #3  Posted February 4 Some cases have been reported. It appears to be random - and quite rare.
LocalHero1953 Posted February 4 Share #4 Â Posted February 4 (edited) The person who started the thread about 'system error' was a bit surprised so few reported similar problems. A few have reported them since then, but it is a small number. I've had mine since launch (Leica Mayfair kept their doors open for for me about 10 minutes before they were obliged to shut for the second lockdown in 2020), and it has performed flawlessly - it has been used intensively, not professionally, but for a good many thousands of images of stage performances and events. As to returning it if it is DOA, that depends on consumer laws in your country (which I see is Germany). Edited February 4 by LocalHero1953
