gcreglia Posted February 2 Share #1 Posted February 2 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Everyone, I wanted to share my review of the Leica D-Lux 8: https://www.lpworkshops.com/leica-d-lux-8-review/ Leica hit a home run with this camera. I will be taking it on vacation this year. Thanks, Gino

PeterBrandt Posted February 2 Share #2 Posted February 2 Good luck on your vacation. My favorite Leica is the V-Lux. I made a photobook, 303 pix on 116 pages of Action Along the Hudson River (next to New York City).
wda Posted February 2 Share #3 Posted February 2 Without captions, am I correct in assuming your illustrations are of an open-air museum ?
Simon101 Posted February 18 Share #4 Posted February 18 Really superb photos which show how capably the D-Lux 8 can be in the right hands! Well done.
jaapv Posted February 18 Share #5 Posted February 18 A nice writeup and nice photography but TBH it reads more like an advertorial than a review.
Einst_Stein Posted February 20 Share #6 Posted February 20 My wife has a DL8. While it is a capable compact camera, it is still a M43 compact camera. Might be due to the small sensor, Leica XV has better image quality, though missing the 24~28mm FL range. But, the most important is still the brain behind the camera and the subject in front of it.
Dazzajl Posted February 20 Share #7 Posted February 20 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have no use case for a compact like this right now but as the nicest spiritual successor so far to the LX2, I’d really like one. I’ve had many compacts since that one but none have been as joyous to use and this seems like the first time the ‘Leica tax’ for a shared platform camera has been this low. It’s genuinely competitive in the market place.
flappo Posted February 25 Share #8 Posted February 25 I think it's a bit of a bargain , so glad I found out about it . Design is gorgeous .
Einst_Stein Posted March 4 Share #9 Posted March 4 (edited) For me, the top three compact cameras with zoom would be Canon G1X mark III (APS-C, 24-120mm), Dlux 8 (or7 or Lumix LX100II), and Lumix LX10 (1", 24-72mm). I am slightly more prefer Canon G1X mark III for both quality and price, and LX10 for price. DLUX 8 is onl in the middle. platti Posted March 4 Share #10 Posted March 4 Hi Three days in Paris, rainy weather and sunny/cloudy, cold, busrides, museums, indoor, outdoor, nightshots - no problem for this little, reliable compagnon. Pictures can be looked at forward the next days on my Flickr-Account.
