The 14167 offers M-lenses to R-camera. BUT that means, that one can take macro photos only.

With the 14127f, one can use the special Visoflex lenses on an R-camera.

Leica Visoflex I with Leitz 20cm Telyt Lens from my Leica Barnack iiif Black dial,
may be I could use and M adapter over M39 screw mount on Leitz Visoflex 14127F adapter for Leicaflex SL Camera (SLR).
Do wonder it's will work on Leica R4 with 14167 adapter Leica R4 (SLR) Camera.

Both the 14127 and the 14167 were meant to use Visoflex lenses with an Leica SLR camera. With the 14127 you had to set your chosen f-stop on the adapter which was read by the Leicaflex to allow lightmetering. The later 14167 was for the later SL- and R-cameras and didn’t need and have the f-stop settings on the adapter.

To use a 20cm Telyt lens you have to leave off the Visoflex I housing and use an OUBIO/16466 adapter which has a 39mm thread-mount on one side and an M-Mount on the other, so you don‘t need an LTM-to-M-adapter. You can fix this to the 14167 and so use it on the R.

I even tried this combination (Telyt, OUBIO/16466, 14127) and an R-to-M-adapter to use it on an M with Liveview. It works in principle, though it shows vignetting which isn‘t there when you use a Visoflex housing as an adapter.

You may see the combination here (second photo):

I have the 400/6.8 Telyt-V which I use with a 14167 and then R-M adapter on my M240.  I found that it corner-vignettes visibly with the current Leica R-M adapter but no vignetting with the Novoflex R-M adapter.  Looking into the adapters I can see the physical difference in the throat opening which would account for the vignetting with the Leica-brand adapter.  The disadvantage to the Novoflex is it has no tripod foot but in the case of the 400/6.8 it has its own foot.  I also use a 70-210 f/4 Vario-Elmar-R , and that one does not vignette with the Leica-brand adapter.
