MRJohn Posted February 14 Author Share #62  Posted February 14 (edited) SL3-S, ISO 50.000, 1/250 sec, f/18, Sigma 70-200, Lightroom Denoise at 30, Lightroom Exposure comp plus 2; it really enables to have good depth of field focus (focus and exposure lock was on the bass player) while minimizing motion blur - in case one wants that. But dynamic range seems to drop off, a bit flatter than at lower ISO.   Welcome, dear visitor! hoolyproductions Posted February 15 Share #63  Posted February 15 SL3 at ISO 12500, 1/60, f2. 75mm APO SL. After some weeks of use I am quite stunned how good the high ISO is on the SL3. Here I have lifted the exposure on the subject by 0.4 EV and the shadows by 0.6. Noise reduction has been applied (set to around 30 in LR), but the original shot was also fine. There is noise but it has a subtle and pleasant look. My SL3-S just arrived so I look forward to trying it out at similar settings - I am not expecting to see much of a difference. HPFM Posted February 16 Share #67  Posted February 16 Advertisement (gone after registration) Great picture!!!! By the way... having the SL3-s with 24 mp like your SL2-s my only concern is having to upscale pictures (if I crop them...) for printing e.g A2.... Do you use upscaling?? Topaz?? LR?? If I do so, I always wonder whether the resulting image is "my original wildlife photograph" or is "generated" by AI... 😬  Using the SL3 there is a lot of crop possible down to 6000x4000 for large printing... but the SL3 is to slow... SL3-s is a lot faster regarding wildlife, but crops result in "very little files".... More than 300 ppi eyes are not capable to see.  " A 24MP camera typically captures images that are approximately 4000 x 6000 pixels in size (this will vary slightly from one manufacturer to another). At the recommended print resolution of 300 pixels per inch, your best quality print size would be up to 13.3″x20″. Generally speaking, a sharp image in those dimensions can usually be printed up to 50% larger with very good results, even on very smooth paper surfaces. Often twice that size on canvas due to the texture. You can preview your images in various sizes and aspect ratios on our website. If a file is lower resolution than recommended, a triangular warning symbol will appear in the middle of your image. Hi, It was f5.6 and about 1/125th of a second.  I was stunned that I was able to get any usable images with no flash in that light.  And Topaz DeNoise is a really great piece of software. Edited February 18 by Sailronin

I never use upscaling, I tried it & found all sorts of strange artefacts creeping in. Here's a thread I posted a couple of years ago regarding printing of images I've done from smaller MP cameras,M8 (10.3MP) & Sony 850 (24MP).   I print large up to 2m x 1m on canvas & crop -obviously there's a limit to how much one can crop within reason, generally you should be able to print to A2. Here's an example taken with the SL2-S & cropped to 50% printed 1.8m x 1.2m on canvas. Welcome, dear visitor!
