The locking mechanism on the Motor M does not open and close the IXMOO cartridges like the Winders.
So my question is, can you transfer the necessary parts from a Winder 4-2  to the Motor M?
It woud be easy to find a donor.
I don`t want to use normal canisters because I just changed all my film loaders and canisters to IXMOOs and
I'am quite happy how it works.
Why I want to do that?
When photographing bands at close range in small clubs with a large partying crowd behind you,
it is annoying to take the camera away from your eye to transport the film.

FILCA & IXMOO are delightful precision devices, and I've used them a lot, as even my 1985 M6 works with them. But lately I've switched to a new snap-apart plastic cassette, while less elegant is also more universal for my R collection & such. You might check with DAG camera parts, as he has quite a collection of odd pieces. (A while back he sold me a FILCA/IXMOO repair tool set for replacing the riveted locking springs. Renewed the broken ones I'd collected from eBay,)

Thanks for the tip.

It is a bit more complicated than just the turn piece.  The new reissued M6 will fit IXMOO, but the bottom plate is the modern one.  Look carefully at the M-4 (or early M-6 and M-3/2) bottom plates.  There is a spike that is also on the plate near the turning piece.  It is used to bend back the tab of the IXMOO so it turns freely.

None of the new plates have this and I have not found yet an old M-4 plate that fits my M6 new.  So, I think the chamber still has something in the way of the tab.

Otherwise, if you really want to try, you can purchase an old bottom plates and unscrew the piece you need.  You just won’t have the tab spike on the M Motor Wiinder.
