This band has been around here for about 40 years and is still going strong. Their name is Honor Among Thieves and they're quite good enough to have made the big time. They haven't done so, mostly because they like the vibe here so much they don't want move to New York, LA or Chicago to get the important gigs. A few other notable greats in the music business have made the same decision to stick around this town--people like the late bassist Richard Davis, the late "funky drummer" Clyde Stubblefield and jazz pianist Ben Sidran. This shot was taken in 1992.

Yes. He's still living here (except for most of the winter when he's in Palm Springs with his wife.) I run into them occasionally out there because they have a condo on one of the golf courses I play at regularly.
