fotografr Posted January 16 Share #1  Posted January 16 Advertisement (gone after registration) Several years ago (pre-retirement) I was working on a story about alcohol abuse and was on a street heavily populated by bars. These two guys stumbled up to me and without having any idea what I was doing asked me to take their picture. That used to happen fairly often and I never could figure out what people thought I was going to do with the photo. After taking this shot of these two, they just walked off completely satisfied. I don't recall what the guy on the left was holding. M6/Tri-X Welcome, dear visitor! stuny Posted January 17 Share #2  Posted January 17 Delightful. Alcohol has some interesting impacts on people. One incident that comes mind was in Greenwich Village in the very early '60s. Three men came out of bar by Gerdes Folk City where I was headed to play. the one in the middle was thoroughly sloshed, and intentionally insulting any male he passed, trying to get into a fight. After my gig I saw the same three men, two of them holding up the pugnacious one who had a blackened eye, split lip and bloodied nose. In India we've frequently had strangers ask to be photographed, but on the Great Wall of China a group of young men asked to be photographed one at a time with Barbara. They each posed next to her, not touching her, but looking like their arm was around her. They wanted the shots on their phones as well as my camera. 1

It affects different people in different ways. I have a friend who is a high functioning alcoholic who becomes increasingly jovial with each drink. On the flip side, my sister's husband--now dead from liver cancer--became obnoxious and argumentative when drinking.
