SrMi Posted January 14 Share #1 Posted January 14 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) The term HDR can have two meanings in photography. The HDR that merges bracketed images into a single image is better known. I am not discussing that one. The second HDR, also known as trueHDR, extends the dynamic range of displays by several stops. It requires appropriate post-processing tools and displays that support it. Sharing HDR images has been challenging, but Instagram seems to support it now. Here are some examples: https://www.instagram.com/srmi_hdr_photography/. Each post contains an HDR and an SDR image. If you do not see HDR text in the bottom-left corner, your display does not support trueHDR. The latest iPhones and Macbooks all have HDR display over 1000 nits (min. requirement). Unfortunately, LUF does not yet support HDR images. Edited January 14 by SrMi
