There are terrific.  I recognize two of the wrestlers (and the venue) from seeing them just over a year ago.

Thanks a lot Stuart! One of these young fighters is about to become one of these 70 professionals

A great series. Will they be published anywhere?

Thank you very much Paul! Yes it will be published in the „The camera from Wetzlar Magazine“. A great magazine from Leica enthusiasts and Luis from the team is such a great guy

You need to od one more thing - try ちゃんこ鍋 (chankonabe), the stew Sumo werstles eat. It has about 10.000 calories and is eaten with rice and beer to increase calorie intake.

Oh yes! And as far as I have understood the wrestlers eat only chicken meat, no pork, no beef no fish during the tournament.

Awesome series. How did you get access?

Google:  "watching a sumo stable"

There is an area where viewers can sit (for 2 or 3 hours) on the floor.  One must be silent the entire time.

You can get access to the Sumo training without any problems. During the training you are not allowed to talk and you sit on the floor. It is not allowed to touch the ring with your feet or to point your sole of food towards the ring.

There are different providers for different stables. We had the best experience with wabunka (www.wabunka-lux.jp). There is a guide who tells you everything about Sumo before the training starts including what to do and what not to do. Furthermore you can write some questions on a panel during the training.
