jeffz Posted January 1 Share #1 Â Posted January 1 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have upgraded to the latest firmware for my SL3. I have noticed two items that I do not understand. First - the self timer is grayed out and not accessible for use Second - When I mount my M lenses using the Leica adapter, the camera indicates the lens correctly on startup. BUT, looking at the summary menu screen, it shows the lens as 0mm. Is this normal or is something miss set. The profile is set to automatic lens detection and it does automatically detect the lens. It just doe not show it in the menu. Â Any help is appreciated. Â

jeffz Posted January 5 Author Share #2  Posted January 5 Just an update. The self timer grays out unless you have the camera in single exposure mode. i did not. It is again working after I changed back to single exposure mode.
Paul2660 Posted January 8 Share #3  Posted January 8 Still amazes me that Leica uses the self timer as a mode and does not allow it to be used to fire exposure bracketing. I realize on the older models with multi shot you can use it there. Leica is the only camera I have used that does not allow the self timer to be used as a feature for all exposure modes.  Paul

A remote controller (or FOTOS, I presume) is needed to trigger eg focus bracketing in cases where the self timer would do the job. Personally, I often use MIOPS Smart in such cases.
hoolyproductions Posted January 8 Share #5  Posted January 8 I just checked this on my SL3 and this is not correct. Self timer and exposure bracketing can both be applied at once.

Haven't checked whether this is possible in the new FW, but it hasn't been in the past.
Paul2660 Posted January 8 Share #7  Posted January 8 Advertisement (gone after registration) Glad to see they updates it for the SL3. Not doable with SL2.  Paul

Not doable with SL2.  Paul Assuming you are referring to self-timer + exposure bracketing: I just checked this on my SL2-S and you can indeed select both simultaneously (latest firmware and most recent previous ones). Also with SL3 this was possible with the prior firmware. Edited January 8 by hoolyproductions
Paul2660 Posted January 9 Share #9  Posted January 9 I will have to go back and check, have not used the SL2 in over a year, so I spoke from memory.  I am not on latest firmware.  Paul
