jaapv Posted January 9 Share #2 Posted January 9 Why does he not just clean it himself?

BradS Posted March 9 Share #4 Posted March 9 (edited) maybe call Tamarkin and see if they will do it. If not they will surely make a recommendation. I too would suggest DiY. I know it's really scary but it's really not hard or risky as it seems. Just buy quality blower, swabs and cleaning fluid, follow directions and be patient and persistent. I'd start with a very aggressive application of the blower to both sensor and rear element of the lens. And finally, DO NOT fuss with it unless there are consistent visible artifacts in photos. algrove Posted April 17 Share #6 Posted April 17 After Tamarkin DAG is not that far away. I hear many Leica stores will be offering this cleaning in-store once staff is trained up.
Le Chef Posted May 13 Share #7 Posted May 13 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would unhesitatingly recommend Dan Tamarkin. He CLA's all the Ms that come in for sale, so wiping a sensor is no big deal.
250swb Posted May 14 Share #8 Posted May 14 'Training staff'? Sensor cleaning is on the verge of being an unskilled job, it takes less time to read sensor cleaning instructions at home than pushing the door open and walking up to the shop counter. If it takes ten minutes the first time it will take two minutes the next time.
jaapv Posted May 14 Share #9 Posted May 14 Well, it takes about 15 minutes to make sure that a not too bright person has understood the five minute instructions. Like the exact number of drops on the swab: three.
LocalHero1953 Posted May 14 Share #10 Posted May 14 The training should be as it's done in the army This is what I'm going to tell you. This is what I'm telling you. This is what I've just told you. 1
