The main problem with the Q2 for me was the weirdness of the procedure required to switch to video and back to photo.  You ether swipe on the touch screen or press menu and touch photo or video.  All other Leicas have a button to do it.

Has Q3, and/or Q3 43, solved this?  Is there a way to assign a button to the toggle?

Yes, the Q3 (and Q3 43) have an extra function button with the default set to "Mode change photo/video)." I don't have a Q2, but I imagine you can swap your function button to do this, (thus giving up "Digital zoom.") Personally, I never use my Q343 for video so I've set FN button 2 to "Exposure Bracketing" in case I'm unsure of exposure and want to quickly have this option. But now that I've had camera for three months I've found that permanently setting exposure compensation to -2/3 has meant that I never use exposure bracketing. Now I need to find something else for FN button 2.

This is exactly my complaint too 😀

I found there are two many function buttons, fn1 fn2, Center wheel button and the wheel itself, which are of no use to me most of the time.

but I’m anxious to leave them as factory settings as they may overlap.

anyone can entertain me some kind of use cases that keep all those buttons assigned and useful?
