21 Lux play/slack in the lens

Is it normal for M lenses to have some slack or play in the lens?  This is only at the very front end at front element past the aperture ring.  I noticed it when I would take off the lens cap, a click or bump, movement.  There is no play behind the aperture ring or focus ring and it is definitely not at the mount only at the very front end.  It doesn't appear to affect IQ, focus or aperture function.  I just picked this up used and its appearance is mint.

After more inspection the movement is just behind the aperture ring but from there forward.  It will make a clicking sound by moving camera up and down.  Not crazy shaking probably no more than if you are walking with it.

@ALScott I had a very similar recent issue with a 28 Summilux; mine developed some slight play as well so I contacted DAG. I shipped it off to DAG for the quick repair + he smoothed out the focus w/ his special Leica grease  and had the lens back in my hands in about 3 weeks.

Looks like a common issue withe the 28 lux, mine in the past inherited the same behavior

Appreciate the 28 comments but no other info on the 21 or any M lens for that matter?
