Elmar 3,5cm f3,5 11 o'clock or 7 o'clock

I am looking for an Elmar 35mm to match my IIIc/f 1950 but how do I recognize
the different lenses in pictures on the internet or is it possible to recognize them by the serialnumbers.
As far as I have learned the 11 o'clock model hits the self-timer.

The little „wheel“ to set the slow shutter times may be a problem with a lens with focus tab on 11 o`clock.

Only very early models of the 35mm Elmar have an 11 o‘clock focus tab. If you look for a serial number higher than 200.000 you‘ll be safe that it is a 7 o‘clock version.

The last 11 o'Clock lenses were made in 1932. Use serial number lists to find an 'age appropriate' item for your camera.

Now I have to find one that fits to me and to my camera.

focusing knob allows easy identification, serial number alone, in the interim period might be confusing
