LocalHero1953 Posted November 30, 2024 Share #2 Posted November 30, 2024 Until a couple of week's ago I could have shown my Q2 Reporter: virtually no wear on the metal, but the aramid wrap was nicely green-grey (and no fraying). My Q3 43 shows no wear yet!

bobtodrick Posted November 30, 2024 Share #4 Posted November 30, 2024 Be hard to tell. One has to remember a lot of those M’s are film cameras, many 50 years old. the Q has only been around about 10 years. But there is this

mmanda Posted August 5 Share #6 Posted August 5 (edited) Here's mine... I bought it last week for $1300 AUD. The sellers Mum used to own it from new, she clearly used this Q... it has been dropped and is pretty banged up. The rear wheel is stuck, looks like the side of the top plate has jammed up the wheel. Not a big deal. Everything else works. This thing is very tough! At some stage I might get a CLA and see what it would cost to unjam that wheel.. for now I'm just having fun with it. This camera is just cool.. love it! Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! F-train Posted August 6 Share #8 Posted August 6 And apparently there are no worn Q’s… Or Q’s are very robust!
F-train Posted August 6 Share #9 Posted August 6 A short while ago a Leica dealer offered a M240 bpb with “forced patina”. Some M owners do not want to wait…
DenverSteve Posted August 8 Share #10 Posted August 8 The older brass bodies with black paint wore differently than the magnesium body. The finish is much more durable today than in decades past. You can't get true "brassing" from a magnesium body.
